M35 and NGC 2158555 viewsM35 and NGC 2158, Open Clusters in Gemini, Maxim DL, CCD Sharp, Photoshop. Visually this is a beautiful star cluster that I first saw in Big Bear at an Indian Princess Winter Camp. This does not capture the magic of that night but it is still a nice image. (1 votes)

NGC 457 -- The Owl Cluster468 viewsNGC 457 -- The Owl Cluster, and open cluster in Cassiopeia. Processed in February 2006 in Maxim DL and Photoshop. Gradients were removed with Russ Croman's Gradient Xterminator. I also applied Don Wade's star color enhancement techniques. The original exposures were too short, so the read noise was a factor in the final images. It also appears that the color images are not perfectly aligned, or the red in the lower left of each star may be due to the extensive color enhancement. (2 votes)

M45 -- The Pleadies611 viewsM45 - The Pleadies, Maxim DL, Photoshop. This was a particularly difficult image and I am not fully satisfied with the result. The problem is blooms and the great contrast between dark and light. The blooms lead to the small "X" on each bright star. (3 votes)

M51 -- The Whirlpool Galaxy983 viewsM51 -- The Whirlpool Galaxy in Canes Venatici, Maxim DL, CCDStack, Photoshop, Gradient Exterminator. Finally a close to acceptable processing of these data. The gradients were awful so the color is a bit strained, and I may have clipped the black level a little bit too. (6 votes)

Jupiter, April 29, 2006554 viewsJupiter, shot at f20. Processed with Registax and Photoshop. Jupiter was fairly low in the sky, so there is some color gradient from the atmosphere and overall the shot is not that clear. (1 votes)
