The fuzzy spot near the center is M 31, the Andromeda Galaxy, and Cassiopeia is visible on the left side of the photo. Taken with Kodak ASA 400 color negative film, scanned at high definition by Samy's Camera, processed in PixInsight.

M101 -- The Pinwheel Galaxy613 viewsM101 / NGC 5457, the Pinwheel Galaxy, a spiral galaxy in Ursa Major. Data acquired and reduced in Maxim DL, aligned and stacked in CCDStack 2, processed in PixInsight, and finished in Photoshop. There is some optical aberration, I think from the focal reducer, that distorts the stars, particularly at the top of the frame.
